Description:
Thrown, ovoid-shaped, unglazed, redware jar, narrow base, wide belly, narrow circular mouth with straight collar with rounded edges and defined at base of collar by a scribe line, inscribed on side of pot, "B.C" New England redware expert Justin Thomas said that this piece could be a maple syrup jar. The letters near the rim may indicate the grade of syrup.
