Description:
Shirred decorative hearth rug, polychrome plain and pattered silks (taffeta and twill weaves) affixed to woven cotton and silk ground substructure. Some fading, especially see on the green silk and a portion of the black silk edging. Some ongoing loss of the raw edges of the silk. Late 19th or early 20th century.
