Description:
Table mat, bleached (white) plain weave linen with polychrome wool (complementary) woven-in weft design in dark blue, yellow, red, dark green, gray and black stripes at both ends, and orange and yellow geometric cross design in the center. 8 ¼” long (hemmed at both the top and bottom) x 9” (selvage width) wide. Originally decorative tassels on all four corners; only two remain now, at opposite corners. Tag pinned to the piece “Worcester Guild of Artists and Craftsmen/ Price $2.00 [marked down from 2.25]/ Article No. “small [illeg.] #20 (wools)/ Consignors no. 47”
