Description:
Table mat or scarf, undyed plain weave linen with polychrome silk or linen weft embroidery in coral, blue, reddish-brown, green and black (the latter color perhaps also serving as a marker from cutting off the loom). Blue embroidery and one section of the reddish brown embroidery are floating (more so than other embroidered design elements). Matching, decorative applied tassels on all four corners. 16” long (hemmed top and bottom) x 10 7/8” wide (selvage width). Affixed tag, with handwritten “233/41B/ [$]5=.” Tag itself is printed with the information “No. 1F/ light/ Made only by/ A. Kimball Co./ New York/ PAT no. 64454 W6.”
