Label Text:
Tuttle subverts the conventions of Modernist sculpture, with its monumental scale and instead creates small, playful objects in humble materials such as cloth and rope. Tuttle further complicates the viewers experience by often placing his work in an odd way. Either hung very high or very low on the wall, this forces the viewer to reconsider the typical gallery space in relation to their own bodies.
