Description:
Straight-sided, oval teapot in black basalt stoneware with an oval lid with three-part fleur-de-lys finial and molded border of tripartite leaves; a standing gallery of alternating small and large arches; molded reserves of classical scenes of several winged putti on each side of the body; a border of alternating tall and shorter arches or flutes around the base; molded leafy elements around the upcurved spout; and molded strap handle with leafy scroll at top. Similar to examples in HD collection in feldspathic stoneware.
