Description:
To the left are two walnuts in split shells. A single bee is in the upper center of the image and six walnuts resembling brains are to the right. In the upper left are 15 lines of text mostly illegible and not in English (probably German).

Label Text:
To create his life-like images of natural specimens, contemporary artist Jakob Demus uses a sharpened diamond to engrave directly into a copper etching plate. His meticulously rendered images, like these fleshy walnuts, recall the naturalism of 16th-century Flemish still-lifes.
