Description: 22 color prints (including endpapers) by Caulfield, with the poems by Laforgue. There is an additional portfolio of 6 loose color prints, each signed and numbered by Caulfield in pencil on the reverse. 16x14, Slipcase and all bindings in gray leather. 71 of 200 of the French (B) edition. Signed and numbered by Caulfield in pencil on colophon page. The twenty-two images with the poems were prepared as studies for original screenprints by the artist between 1969 and 1972. Color proofing took place in London at the studios of Christopher Betambeau in 1971-72, and the editions were printed on Neobond synthetic paper, 200 gsm in Stuttgart by Frank Kicherer in 1972. The colophon notes that "The stencils have been destroyed. No further impressions will be printed." (There were also 200 copies of an English language (A) edition produced, and an edition (C) of 100 full set of the 22 prints on large paper in separate portfolio. The University Gallery has the French / B edition.
