Description:
Mourning cape, probably for a woman. Made of black silk taffeta in a circular shape, with applied 2.5" wide band of matching crepe attached at the neck. Fastens at center front with matching (replaced?) ties. The cape is lined in a brown, plain weave cotton. Both the fashion fabric and lining are pieced to accomodate the circular shape of the garment. The cape is entirely hand stitched.
