Group of men and donkeys at the feet of the statue on the right.; Original French Title: "No. 137, Colosses de Memnon a Thebes"; At base of left (North?) statue, one man with donkey and goats; Two massive statues of Pharoah Amenhotep III of Egypt, in seated position, with hands resting on knees, gaze facing East; quartzite sandstone; Northern statue reconstructed by Roman Empire; originally built to guard Pharoah's Memorial Temple in Thebes
