Description:
Map of North and South America, Terra Australis (Antarctica), and New Guinea. Includes three circular inset maps in corners: Golfo Mexicano;Cuba; Haiti nuc Hispaniola. Largely based on the 1587 world map of his uncle, Rumold Mercator. The "Mare Dulce" is believed to be early evidence of the existence of the Great Lakes. Mannerist decoration in the margins.
