Appointing George Lindsay First Lieutenant of the Marine Corps, February 6, 1830. Signed by Andrew Jackson. Framed. Label on reverse: "Frank S. Schwartz, American Antiques, Atlantic City, New Jersey."
Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767-June 8, 1845) was elected to the United States House of Representatives and served briefly in the United States Senate. He became a national hero during the War of 1812 when he defeated the British at New Orleans. He went on to become the seventh President of the United States (1829-1837).
