Description:
English creamware pierced round fruit basket with stand (HD 2006.33.21.2), both impressed "LP" for Leeds Pottery on the exterior base. John Griffin believes this mark may be the earliest impressed mark used, and which continued to be used after the introduction of the "Leeds Pottery" stamps. The basket has a wavy rim; two double entwined cord handles with floral terminals; flared sides pierced and molded with a basketweave pattern; and a flat, plain well.

Subjects:
Pottery; glaze (coating by location)
