Label Text:
This print is signed at lower-left "Toyomaru ga" ('drawn by Toyomaru') at lower-left. The seal of publisher Maruya Bun'emon is visible at lower-right and is consistent with a style employed by him from 1793 until the 1820s. The actor's name and role are written at middle-left. The actor's crest, visible on his right sleeve, indicates membership in the Segawa line of actors. This hosoban, or 'narrow sheet,' print bears no further identifying marks.
