Description: English creamware figurine of Hamlet (or Prince Rupert) who has his right hand holding the end of a berried wreath sash extending over his left shoulder and his left hand on his left hip; standing on a circular pedestal in front of a tree stump sprigged with foliage and with a center shell flanked by rococo scrolls around the pedestal base. Hamlet is modeled wearing a theatrical costume with a plumed tricorn hat, tight-fitting jacket over puffy breeches, and flower heads by his knees and on his shoes. According to Donald Towner, this figure is decorated with the same floral reliefs that are found on other pieces of Leeds pottery.
