Description:
English pearlware egg cup with a circular bowl with molded ring handles two sides and a circular pedestal foot, which is impressed "WEDGWOOD" on underside of the base. Egg cups have been made by the Wedgwood Factory in creamware from perhaps as early as 1765 to modern times. These cups were made in several shapes (a page from Wedgwood's '1802' Shape Drawing Book depicts 16 different varieties) including the open hoop or ring, pear shape, and double egg cups for the American market. This form was manufactured in most of the factory's ceramic bodies.

Subjects:
Pottery; glaze (coating by location)
