Description:
Unfinished table mat printed with a central abstracted design of a large roundel with two opposing moths. The roundel is squared off by four darker corner triangles. In the direct center is a diamond-shaped line design. (identical pattern to HD 94.023.20, except in shades of brown). The body of one moth has been embroidered Fragment of brown linen, mended, and fringed ends with a stenciled center circle with butterfly and geometric designSelvage width. Top and bottom are fringed, and not hemmed. A tag is basted on the back of the table mat: "The Society of Blue / and White Needle / Work / Deerfield...Mass." Experimental?
