Label Text: SKINNER CATALOGUE: Chair. A writing arm Windsor chair, said to have been made for a Salem minister in the first quarter of the 19th century. Pine writing arm and seat, hard wood spindles, legs, and stretchers. Semi low back, squared and spindled, left hand writing arm, square cornered, level, and supported by two spindles raked back and out, and forward and in, to a single lip, besides two of the regular spindles; all four tenoning through the arm. Single stretchers on all four sides. Bamboo turnings on legs, stretchers, and side spindles to the arms. Painted dark brown, with gray seat, and with orange painted decorative linings on writing arm, seat, and top rail. No drawers. Marked in pencil on the bottom of the writing arm E. P.
