Description:
Gilt silverwork covering a rectangular piece of wood, framing five oval enamelled porcelain paintings, one larger in the center and then four smaller surrounding in each of the corners. The paintings depict the Annunciation (center) and saints important to the city of Rostov Veliky (clockwise from upper right): Saint Ignatius, Bishop of Rostov; Demetrius of Rostov; Leontius of Rostov; and Isaiah of Rostov.
