Description:
Fragments of crewel embroidery dimity featuring floral sprig motifs. Some of the extant pieces are in the shape of sleeve flounces; one may have been cut to fit a chair seat. Originally, all these items were part of the fabric that constructed a woman's gown, which was repurposed at a later date. They were probably acquired by the museum's founder, Helen Geier Flynt (1895-1986) for their importance as a textile art. Some alterations may have been undertaken once they came into the museum's collection in the late 1960s.

Subjects:
Textile fabrics; Cotton; Embroidery; polychrome; Wool
