Description:
Woman's housewife or sewing case which has a note inside reading in part: "Belonged to / "Experience Parris." Made of printed cotton on the outside (madder, with pencil blue), edged with cream silk tape. On the inside, it is pieced with linen and various fabrics, including a solid colored, light blue silk taffeta, a purple, pink and blue striped silk taffeta, a medium blue silk damask, and a wool damask in pink and white. On one end inside are four scalloped edge layers of red wool, for holding needles. One needle remains in the first layer.
