Description:
English pearlware saucer, part of a partial teaset with one teacup, two coffee cups with loop handles, and three saucers, all with scalloped rims and lightly fluted bodies and decorated in red, black, brown, and green, and blue. The chinoiserie scene depicts a standing figure holding a stick or prod, a large brown oxen on an iron-red ground, red A-shaped frame (building?), trees, and foliage; each rim has a band of stylized flowers heads in red in a black oval reserve.
