Description: One piece cotton wrapper of printed floral design with front button closure and green silk tassel belt. The wrapper has a straight front in an 'A' line silhouette. There is a center front opening, with closure of twelve green silk-covered buttons and corresponding green silk loops acting as button holes. The closure is secured at the bottom of the wrapper. The slightly raised waistline at the back sees the skirt portion cartridge pleated into bodice portion. The armscyes and shoulder seams are slightly dropped. The bell shaped sleeves are in a trumpet-like shape towards the cuff; this unique shape is due to the single underarm seam on each sleeve. Both sleeves are cut on the bias. The wrapper is primarily lined in a brown printed cotton. On either side of the opening, the wrapper is lined in a green and polychrome printed cotton. Details include a small, stand up collar with a narrow double-flounced white lace trim, added later. Two hip level flap pockets are in front, one on each side, and edged in self-piping; each flap is lined in blue linen. The proper right pocket opens at the top, and is also lined in blue linen on the inside. Two widths of fabric form the wrapper in front, three widths make up the back. Each width is 24-25.0" wide.
