Description:
Pieced, cotton quilt made of 18 pieces of red, copper-plate printed cotton on a white ground with genre scenes with a variety of people set in the country and farmyards; straight applied binding; four-piece, plain weave, white cotton backing; and wool batting. The quilting is done in diagonal, parallel lines at 6 stitches per inch. The quilt was owned by the donor in her childhood in Minnesota. See valence, HD F. 356B.
