Description:
One of a pair of Queen Anne side chairs in walnut with a slip seat, a form of chair that was made throughout New England. The chair has a yoked crest rail, shaped back stiles chamfered on the rear edges, and a solid vase-shaped back splat. The trapezoidal slip seat is covered in a gold wool damask, over front cabriole legs ending in pad feet on discs and slightly flared rear legs chamfered above and below the turned, compressed stretchers.
