Description:
Man's shirt front with vertical ruffle stitched to a separate panel and protruding through and opening left in the center of the vertically pleated panel; neck band attached; collar with curved front turn-down, back closing; in ink on lower left corner "Nathaniel N. Rice Orange, Mass. Dec. 31st 1841; lower left hand corner of collar with neckband had written in ink, N N Rice, So. Orange This is typical of the kind of work found in "Workwoman's Guide 1838".
