Description:
English bed furnishings done in wool crewel embroidery on a cotton and linen ground, which consists of seven pieces including a coverlet, headcloth, bed curtains, and valance from two similar sets of work. The pieces are covered overall with scrolling flowers and branches, and animals including a variety of colorful birds, squirrel, and deer. Similar work was also done in the American colonies using material purchased form England.
