Description:
Pieced, cotton quilt laid out in square blocks of printed cotton chintz in browns, greens, and pinks on a tan ground, many with a twig and leaf pattern, which is laid out in strips; four-piece cotton backing; and cotton batting. The lower two corners (23" x 23") have been cut out, probably to accomodate bed posts. The quilting has been done in a clamshell motif in 7 stitches per inch. The donor bought the quilt in Palmer, Massachusetts, in the 1930s.
