Description:
Pieces of block-printed and pencilled linen or cotton and linen mix printed with a scrolling flower, bud, leaf and vine pattern in red, blue, yellow, brown and black, and stamped "B-394 Manuf. de de Montmollin, Berthoud & Cie de Neuchatel" in a red rectangle on one edge and "114" and "EB" and "IHG." Jean-Henry de Montmollin and Gustave-David Berthoud were in business between 1794-1807. Neuchatel joined the Swiss Confederation in 1814. The textile had been made into curtains.
