Description:
Spectacles with colorless glass lenses in a silver frame and a composition (wood and paper) case, case is contemporary with the glasses, frames are stamped at temple, "E. DARROW/ N.Y.", and "16" on left side arm, the frames have a sliding 1/2 side arms, pin-in-slot adjustable side arms, with a medium sided tear finial, oval c-bridge, there is a solder repair on the frames at the oval lens, owned by Samuel Pierce (1767-1840), a pewterer who worked in Greenfield, Massachusetts. An ink inscription on the case reads:"Grandfather's/ S.P."
