Description:
Woman's cap of white dimity with a lace edge, tacked to a wired headband, which is probably made from a large, handkerchief-like square of fine sheer cotton edged with white lace. The cap may have been a wedding head-piece. The cloth is gathed in three places (center front and from center). The ends are then twisted towards the front and tacked in several places to created the two nautilis shaped puffs. The wire band is covered with white net.
