Description:
Woman's sleeping cap of very plain off-white cotton (not the finest quality). Cap is made in two pieces with seam runnng down center of head (seam is turned under and tinished on the inside). Elevated at back to accomodate bun. Gathering in back, 1 1/8" from bottom neck edge, 3.5" wide (faced on the inside with a cotton tape. Simple rolled hem, hand stitched, on bottom neck edge. Edge framing face is turned back 1 1/8", edged with a cotton lace edge that is woven to resemble a ruffle (.25" wide). Cap seems to end at hairline in front. Ties with 2 short cotton tapes .5x8.5". signed inside "D E Davis", upside down on right.
