Description: Child's dress made from beige silk. the gown features a low, wide belt made from dark black silk velvet (possibly a replacement), and lined with an all-over small repeating print of rosebuds. This lining also makes up the ruffled, fallen collar and the neck and turned back cuffs on each sleeve. A label on the inside back neck of the garment notes that it was made by Gebruder Mosse, Berlin and New York. Machine-stitched, the dress may have been purchased at the New York location. Gebruder (or Gebrueder) Mosse was founded by brothers in Berlin in 1903, and located on Jaegerstrasse 47-48. It was in bsuiness until 1932. Little is known of their New York branch, which was located at 19 West 45th Street.
