Description: Woman's "boudoir" cap made of handkerchief cotton, lace and silk, which sits squarely on the head with the lace edges overhanging on the forehead. The exterior of cap is made of fine cotton, embellished with embroidery in floral patterns and eyelets, with a scalloped edge all the way around. Pink/white satin ribbon rozettes are sewn across the top, connected with a stiff, twisted ribbon "stem" that gives body to the cap. The cotton portion is loosely tacked to a lining of light pink tafetta. Inserted between these is a 3" wide white net and lace edging, rather stiff and regularly pleated (fluted). The lining is edged in front with two latyers of 1" lace (leaf and circle patten, scalloped edge). Pleats in front and back give lining its cap shape. Pink satin ribbon ties are 4.25" x 27.5" and very soft in texture.
