Description: Woman or girl's one piece dress of green shot silk, formed by a yellow warp woven with a blue weft. The dress is entirely hand sewn. Bodice. which is not boned, is lined in off white cotton; the skirt is completely lined in a printed cotton that is only attached at the waistline, acting as a sort of separate, but built-in petticoat. Skirt hem has a 4" facing of pieced brown cotton lining fabrics. The dress fastens center back with 15 brass hook (prope left) and eye closures. Bodice comes to a slight point at center front. Both the front and back center bottom are shirred. Bodice has a yoke, both front and back, which is followed by shirring on both sides as well. The fitted sleeves end at the elbow, where they open up with a 2.0" cuff. These sleeves are covered by a capped over-sleeve that is ruffled. Both armsyes, neckline, and bottom of bodice are all edged in self-piping. The skirt is gathered at the waist. An underskirt/petticoat of white printed cotton exists, with 3 1/2" brown cotton facing along the inside, at hem.
