Description:
Long or gallery rug, possibly woven in northwest Persia. The original accession records describe this as a "Mir Sarabend" example. The rug exhibits what is known as abrash, or a visible change in dye lots during the weaving of the rug, which results in subtle areas where one color scheme is actually different shades.
