Jean Simon Chaudron (1758-1846) moved to from Haiti to Philadelphia in 1793, where he worked as a jeweler, watchmaker, and silversmith. He was in partnership with Charles Fredric Bilon from 1795 to around 1797; by himself for many years; and then in partnership with Anthony Rasch (c.1778-c.1859) as Chaudron & Rasch from 1809-1812. Sometime between 1817-1819, Chaudron moved first to Demopolis, Alabama, and then to Mobile, Alabama, in 1825.
