Description:
White linen sheet with the initials "R W". Linen was a popular choice for bed textiles; it could be bleached and cleaned, and was stronger when wet. The inclusion of cross stitched initials suggests ownership. Frequently multiple sets of linens were marked to show ownership, and sometimes inventory numbers.
