Description:
White silk waistcoat decorated overall with embroidered polychrome floral designs, which is part of a man's court suit (HD F.675) and one of two waistcoats (see HD F.675b) which came with the suit. This waistcoat is lined with white silk taffeta and padded with a batting of lambs wool held in place with quiting tacks at regular intervals. The padding was used either to correct a 'fault' of nature (the weaqrer may have been unfashionaby thin) or it was to be worn during the winter months.
