Description:
Pair of women's white satin shoes, with a flat, pointed toe and Louis heel with narrow base (note the heel would have been covered with the white satin fashion fabric, but has since been worn away or removed, leaving the adhesive remnant). A worn and illegible label is affixed inside one shoe. The tongues are double-faced, with the fashion fabric also serving to line and support them (typically the tongue lining is of a different fabric). The two straps or latchets would have met in the CF to be fastened by a buckle.

Subjects:
Textile fabrics; Leather; Linen; Silk
