Description:
Sheets, one of the most basic and prevalent kinds of textile used for beds, were often embroidered with the intials or one or more people (probably the owner(s)). A corresponding number often seen with these intitials may indicate one of several sheets, sometimes written as a pair in probates, perhaps a refernce to the two selvage widths that often make up sheets.
