Description:
Single-width length of tan and white checked, balanced plain weave linen. Both warp and weft threads are spun in a Z-twist, and the woven density is 32 epi (warp) x 32 tpi (weft). One end is hemmed about 1/8" - 1/4". Examples like this represent more utilitarian types of table linens available to consumers in the 18th and early 19th centuries, and could have been produced in the American colonies/United States, or been imported.
