Description: Woman's gown, with open sack back robe and petticoat, both in matching fabric of off-white silk satin lampas or lance, with medium sized brocaded flower and leaf design. The gown's robe is constructed as a robe a la francaise, or in the French style (sack back), with double box pleats at the center back neckline that float freely to the hem (secured about 6" down from the back neckline inside with herringbone stitching). The full length open robe with pleated back and front panels are all shaped to a fitted under bodice. The robings, or trim, are made of gathered self fabric, trimmed with green and white guimp, that is couched with red thread. The elbow length sleeves end in a tiered, scalloped flounce, also with matching guimp. Petticoat has a front flounce of gathered self fabric, also trimmed with guimp. Selvage width is about 21.25".
