Description:
Linen was an ideal fabric for utilitarian domestic textiles such as towels. Linen fibers are naturally moisture absorbant, and moreso when woven in a weave that creates a three-dimensional effect such as the diaper weave pattern of this textile. A linen tab was sewn on for hanging the towel, which served both as a convenience as well as a method of drying the towel.
