It is still unclear who was George Edwards since Jonathan Edwards (1745-1801), the son of the well-known Reverand Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) of Northampton, did not have son named Charles with his first wife, Mary Porter Edwards (1748-1782) who married in 1770. Jonathan Edwards married again to Mary Sabin (1758-1823 of New Haven, Connecticut, but no children have yet been identified. There is a listing in the Northampton death records for two children of George Edwards who died in 1816 and 1817.
