Description:
Board and batten door from 12 Main Street, Hatfield, which was a homemade cover for unknown purpose. Made from several pieces of hard pine flooring with traces of yellow ochre paint Held together with two pieces of crown molding (18th century cyma profiles) secured with cut nails with machine made heads. One end rounded and traces of leather at opposite end likely used as hinges. Hole near center possibley to aid in lifting top.
