Description:
English delft circular plate decorated in blue with a large pagoda-like building flanked by two tall, stylized floral stems. The rim is encircled by scrolling lines connecting stylized flowers. The back of the plate has a paper label with the inscription "Wm. Broomer/Umbrella and China./ Repaired Etc./32 Shawmut Avenue/Boston, Mass." William Broomer is listed as a repairer of china and umbrellas in the Boston City Directories from 1886 to 1922.
