Description:
English delft tile of a hawk with its head facing over its back and perched on a bough, which is decorated in Fazackerly colors of dull green, yellow, blue, orange, and purple/brown and set in a modern oak frame. According to the donor: "Ray 377 is same but has bianco sopra bianco. From Tuckerman House, Amhurst, Ma. but eventually back from a house in New London, Conn. cracked in two, framed. 131:7. Bristol c.1765."
