Description:
English lusterware jug covered overall with gold "copper" luster and decorated with painted enamels in green, white, pink, yellow, and blue, and a white slip interior. The jug is inscribed in yellow under the spout "Mrs HP When this you see / Remember me SL / 1823". The jug has a curving, everted pouring lip; a high, wide, straight-sided neck defined from the spherical body by an incised line; and a C-shaped handle with stylized acanthus scrolls. The body and neck are decorated with floral sprays in green, white, pink, and blue.
