Description:
French (probably) creamware glass stand with straight sides decorated with a pierced or openwork, stylized floral design, and beaded rim and base edges, which is impressed on the base, "ROLAND / B." "Roland" has not yet been identified. This form, which was produced by a number of English creamware manufactureres including Wedgwood, Leeds Pottery, Don Pottery and Castleford Potery over a long period and appeared in their French editions, was used for both glass stands (averaging 3 1/2 in. in diameter) and bottle stands (averaging 5 in. in diameter).
